Home Remedies for Dry Hair:

By following the remedies below your dry hair will become shiny and healthy again.

1. (Eggs)

The lecithin and protein strengthen moisturize and condition the hair. You can use egg white or if you prefer use whole egg.

Process 1:

  • Take two eggs beat until become smooth and mix with 6 teaspoon of water
  • Dissolve the egg white in water by stirring.
  • Now apply it to your hair and leave it for about half hour.
  • Wash your hair with water using a mild shampoo.
  • To bring back the life in dry hair repeat this 3 times per week.

Process 2:

  • Take 3 eggs and beat until become smooth now mix with honey 1 teaspoon and olive oil 2 teaspoon.
  • Apply the mixture to your scalp and use shower cap to cover it.
  • Leave it for half hour.
  • Wash your hair with water using a mild shampoo.
  • To bring back the life in dry hair repeat this 2 times per week.

Process 3:

  • Take 2 eggs whip and mix with almond oil 1 ½ teaspoons and full fat yogurt  ½ cup.
  • After applying the mixture to scalp cover hair with shower cap or wrap in towel.
  • Wash your hair with water using a shampoo after half hour.

2. (Avocado and Banana)

Bananas prevent split ends  and soften hair while Avocados nourish and moisturize it.

  • Mix  1 avocado,  1 banana, and almond oil ½ tablespoon and bend until become smooth.
  • Apply the smooth mixture to hair and sclp.
  • Comb through your hair after massaging the mixture into scalp.
  • Cover scalp with shower-cap and leave for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Wash your hair with conditioner and mild shampoo.

 3. (Vinegar)

Try vinegar for your hair in the method below because it restores the pH balance of scalp which will not not let the hair become too dry or too oily.

Process 1:

  • A spray bottle of vinegar must be kept in shower a small travel size is ok.
  • After washing, and conditioning  your hair spritz a bit of vinegar on it.
  • The process can be repeated 3 times a week for good results.

Process 2:

  • Stir in apple cider vinegar ¼ cup in a basin full of water.
  • Soak the hair for 10 minutes in the water.

  • First rinse your hair with water and then wash with mild-shampoo and conditioner it.

 5. (Essential Oils)

Oils like almond, olive, coconut, and jojoba nourish and moisturize hair.

  • Choose one oil or combine two oils and warm them.
  • Massage it into your scalp and then comb it through wet hair.

  • Rinse with water, then wash with mild shampoo and conditioner.

6. (Honey)

  • Mix olive oil 1 tablespoon with raw honey ½ cup.
  • Apply on damp, clean hair and then comb through.

  • Rinse your hair with warm-water, then wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner.
  • Repeat the process one time a week.
  • Note: Vegetable oil can be used in place of olive oil.

 7. (Aloe Vera)

 Aloe vera nourishes and moisturizes hair, and form a protection that prevent brittleness and breakage.
  • Take coconut oil ½ teaspoon melt it and mix with fresh aloe-vera gel or juice 4 teaspoon and plain Greek yogurt 3 tablespoon.
  • Apply this mixture to your scalp and comb through your hair.
  • Leave it for about about 30 minutes after covering your hair with shower cap.
  • Then rinse it with water repeat the process one time a week.

8. (Hot Oil Massage)

Hot oil massage repairs damage and moisturizes, to promote healthy and strong hair growth it increase circulation.

  • Take some hair oil and warm it then apply to your hair.
  • Give a gentle massage to your hair with this oil and then cover with shower cap.
  • Leave it for about 20 minutes.
  • Now rinse it with water and mild shampoo.

9. (Gelatin Pack)

To repair damage hair and lock in moisture protein is effective and is present in rich quantity in gelatin.

  • Mix gelatin 1 teaspoon into warm water 1 cup keep mixing to dissolve completely.
  • Mix in vinegar 1 teaspoon and lavender 3 drops, lemon oil, or rosemary.
  • Apply the mixture to your hair, massage into your scalp, and comb through to tips.
  • Leave it on for about 15 minutes.
  • Then rinse with warm water.

 10. (Coconut Oil and Curry Leaves)

Moisturizing property of curry leaves and coconut oil moisturizes and nourishes the hair and scalp.

  • Heat coconut oil 2 teaspoons over medium flame & stir in six curry leaves.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes and then remove it from heat and let it cool down.
  • Apply to scalp, massaging into your hair and combing it through to tips.
  • Cover your hair with warm towel and leave it on for about 30 minutes.
  • To get brittle less and shinny hair use water to rinse it.
  • This process must be repeated one time a week.

 11. (Beer Treatment)

Beer contains vitamin B and proteins, which nourish, moisturize, & repair damaged and dry hair.

  • Take a spray bottle filled with beer.
  • After washing your hair spritz wet hair with beer.
  • To get rid of beer smell blow the hair.
  • Rinse with water after leaving for 10 minutes.
  • Must be repeated at least one a week.

12. (Olive Oil)

Olive oil is helpful in getting healthy hair by moisturizing your hair.

  • Take 2 eggs beat and mix in lemon juice 2 teaspoon and olive oil 2 teaspoon.
  • Apply the mixture to your scalp and hair and massage your hair for about 3 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes rinse with warm water and mild shampoo.
  • Repeat this process two times a week.

 13. (Proper Hair Hygiene)

If you think that regularly washing hair with shampoo will make your hair look better then you are wrong. Using these chemical rich commercial products everyday on your hair whit hot water will take out the natural oil from your hair and will lead to breakage, brittleness, and dryness. Use the above methods once a week and shampoo every two days. But the pH value of shampoo must be in between 4.5 and 6. Also use hair care products which have mild chemicals.

 Other Tips for Preventing Dry Hair:

Keep using the above home remedies for dry hair and keep in mind these tips and precautions.

  • Do not baby shampoo its pH level is high and will make your hair dry
  • Massage gently while conditioning and shampooing because dry-hair is extra delicate, and also comb gently.
  • Use conditioner and shampoos that are alcohol free.
  • For very dry hair overnight conditioner is preferred to lock the moisture in the hair.
  • Doing excessive combing will damage the hair. Use a boar bristle brush & comb gently and  not to comb wet hair.
  • Hot water will leave your hair dry by stripping away natural oil avoid if possible.
  • Avoid hot rollers and blow dryers as they make hair dry and remove the moisture .
  • Keeping the body hydrated will help in keeping the hair hydrated.
  • Eat a lot of vegetables and fresh fruits, especially avocados and leafy greens .
  • Scarves and hats will give your hair protection from sun.
  • Regular oil application is a good in preventing dry hair.
  • Split ends can be prevented by regular hair trim.
  • To protect your hair from chlorine during swimming wear swim cap.
